Start with your actual phone number

Decide whether you are moving your existing Bangladesh number, adding a second line or buying a travel data plan. These are different tasks. Before paying for an eSIM-only phone, confirm that your chosen operator can activate your number on that exact unit and explain how you recover it if the device is lost or replaced.

An embedded SIM stores a carrier profile on the device instead of using a removable card. Grameenphone's eSIM FAQ describes activation requirements and says converting a number disables its physical SIM. Plan the change when you can complete activation rather than immediately before an important call.

Verify the model, region and carrier lock

Ask for the device model number and the SIM options on its manufacturer specification page. Treat a regional suffix on an invoice as a clue to investigate, not a compatibility certificate. Apple's regional Dual SIM guidance documents different SIM arrangements for particular iPhone models and markets; avoid blanket claims about every Chinese, Hong Kong or US iPhone.

Grameenphone's supported-handset page also requires an unlocked device and cautions that regional versions may differ. If an operator list names the model but the exact unit lacks the corresponding hardware or menu, resolve that conflict before purchase. Do not publish or share a QR activation code, EID or personal account details to prove compatibility.

A regional Galaxy example

Samsung India's A35 specification lists nano-SIM with a hybrid second SIM-or-microSD position for SM-A356EZKJINS; embedded SIM is not listed in that profile. Samsung UK's A54 specification explicitly lists nano-SIM and embedded SIM for SM-A546BLGCEUB, alongside a hybrid physical tray. These are exact regional examples, not a rule about every A35 or A54.

Compare the India A35 record and UK A54 record when a SIM arrangement affects your choice. Embedded-SIM hardware does not by itself confirm an operator's current acceptance, unlock status or successful activation. Check the offered model and your number's activation and recovery process together. The two manufacturer profiles were rechecked on 4 October 2026.

Ask about moving and restoring the profile

Before changing phones, deleting a profile or resetting a device, obtain your operator's current transfer or replacement instructions. Do not assume that a saved QR code can always be reused. Grameenphone's FAQ contains restrictions on reinstalling profiles; your current operator's procedure and the specific phone software should govern the action.

Keep a working route to operator support and clarify the replacement charge directly. We do not quote a fee here because fees and activation procedures can change independently of phone specifications.

A practical purchase check

  1. Identify the regional model and physical SIM or eSIM arrangement.
  2. Confirm carrier-unlocked status and current operator support.
  3. Agree how your existing number will be activated and recovered.
  4. Verify the actual unit and written return terms before payment.

The iPhone Air and X300 Pro records help compare their documented SIM configurations. Use the official and unofficial buying guide to check warranty and import terms separately from network support. SIM compatibility is not proof of 5G coverage, call quality or a particular plan's availability.

Manufacturer and operator guidance was checked on 3 October 2026. This is a purchase framework, not an activation test of every listed handset or operator.
