Phone Battery Guide: Regional Capacity, Rated Figures and Real Use

Identify the exact regional capacity

A model name alone can hide a battery difference. OnePlus Nord 5 has 6800 mAh typical capacity in the Bangladesh manufacturer specification, while its UK specification lists 5200 mAh. Nord CE5 likewise lists 7100 mAh on the Bangladesh page and 5200 mAh on the UK page. Check the regional unit before comparing a quoted phone with a catalogue record.

These are manufacturer capacity figures, not our measured day counts. A larger regional capacity does not establish how long your navigation, recording or gaming session lasts, or prove better endurance than a different phone.

Keep typical, rated and battery-health figures separate

Nord 5's Bangladesh footnote publishes both 6800 mAh typical and 6650 mAh rated capacity. They describe the new product specification; do not read the smaller rated number as a used unit's battery-health percentage. Nord CE5's BD table gives a 7100 mAh battery headline without the same typical/rated breakdown, so do not invent its missing rated figure.

Cell arrangements need the same care. The OnePlus 12 UK source describes a series dual-cell assembly specified as 2700 mAh at 7.82 V, equivalent to 5400 mAh at 3.91 V. Its typical energy is 21.12 Wh. The OnePlus 12 record keeps that equivalent capacity; adding the cell figure again would double-count it. Compare quantities only when their voltage and equivalent-capacity conventions match, and retain the manufacturer's energy figure when provided.

For an actual unit, battery health is a different observation. Apple's battery guidance defines maximum capacity relative to when the battery was new and explains that chemical age includes usage and charging history. It also warns that health information can be inaccurate when an iPhone battery cannot be verified. A launch specification cannot establish the condition of the unit being offered.

Read a minimum specification without turning it into health

The Bangladesh realme 15 5G and 15 Pro 5G both publish 7000 mAh typical and 6830 mAh minimum in their standard-model and Pro tables. Preserve the manufacturer's word “minimum”; do not silently rename it a rated value or use the two numbers to calculate a used unit's health.

Both also explicitly include an 80 W adapter. Equal capacity and equipment figures do not establish equal runtime or a full-charge time: the phones have different processors, pixel dimensions and recording modes, while actual settings and conditions still need workload evidence. Match the camera task, display settings and your charging opportunities before choosing from the capacity headline.

Compare a workload you actually need

Write down your main tasks and the longest ordinary period away from power. A desk worker who can charge at lunch and a commuter relying on navigation and mobile data need different evidence. Keep a reserve for the task that must still work at the end of that period.

When comparing runtime claims, record:

• The tested regional phone, memory configuration, software and battery condition.
• The workload: video playback, gaming, recording, standby or a mixed routine.
• Display brightness, resolution, refresh setting and whether the test uses Wi-Fi or mobile data.
• Starting charge, stopping point, temperature and any disclosed test limitations.

A manufacturer's controlled playback result does not become a guaranteed mixed-use day. A claimed game session on a particular configuration does not prove the same result for another physical-RAM variant. Do not combine hours from incompatible tests into a ranking or treat an advertised refresh rate as measured game fps. Our specification research is not hands-on endurance testing.

Decide whether charging solves the gap

For Nord 5, the BD specification separately lists 80W SUPERVOOC, 18W PD and PPS up to 55W, plus an 80W adapter in the box list. Those routes require matching equipment; the headline does not establish a complete-charge time. Nord CE5's BD list names a cable but does not list an adapter, so package inclusion needs confirmation rather than inference.

Use the charger and cable guide for protocol, accessory and package decisions. Bypass charging support is also separate from a measured temperature, longer session or battery-lifespan guarantee. Choose around where you can actually charge, then include missing accessories in the total purchase cost.

Plan for the unit you will own

Battery life between charges and battery lifespan before replacement are separate. Apple's guidance explains that rechargeable batteries lose capacity and peak-power capability with chemical age; an old model's original mAh figure cannot settle its current condition. For a used or older-stock purchase, ask for the unit's applicable condition information, service route, replacement cost and written warranty terms.
